We have been invited by the NRC HF community to tour their Operations Center followed by a joint happy hour on December 3rd (please see below for the formal invitation).  The tour will start promptly at 3 pm and those attending must RSVP either via Evite ( to Bridget Lewis ( by November 13th.

However, anyone and everyone is welcome to join us for the happy hour (location TBD, somewhere near the NRC).

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission Headquarters Operations Center is a state-of-the-art incident response center used by the NRC to coordinate the federal response to radiological emergencies.  The center supports a variety of functions such as: radiological event analysis, assessment of actions intended to protect the public from a radiological release, executive decision making, communication with various domestic and international stakeholders, and many other functions necessary to protect the health and safety of the U.S. public and environment.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission human factors community would like to invite HFES Potomac to join us for a tour of the NRC Headquarters Operations Center and to join us for our monthly social event known as First Thursday.
