Abstract: Edward will introduce a brief history of the Loan Programs Office followed by a discussion of LPO’s process in reviewing project applications. Then, he will highlight some of the program’s accomplishments to date and finish the discussion with LPO’s current activities.

The Speaker: Edward Rios is a Senior Investment Analyst with DOE’s Loan Programs Office. In his role, Edward evaluates renewable energy power and advanced manufacturing projects for programmatic eligibility, technical soundness (with the aid of expert engineering staff), creditworthiness and overall merit within a highly competitive pool of applicants. Before joining LPO, Edward was a technical consultant to DOE’s Industrial Technologies Program, National Energy Technology Laboratory, and Environmental Management Program. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering both from the University of Florida. He is also a certified Project Management Professional administered by the Project Management Institute.
